The EcoCart by HydroSphere is one of our best-selling and favorite window cleaning tool. This multi-stage pure water system is affordable, allowing you to produce more pure water for less. It’s inexpensive and easy to transport, set up, and use. It’s a three-stage system with a carbon filter, RO membrane, and DI resin filter. It has a sturdy cart, rugged wheels, and long-lasting metal fittings. With that in mind, there are some things that we believe you need to be aware of when operating a multi-stage pure water system unit such as the EcoCart. Read our tips on making sure you have adequate pressure to clean windows with pure water.

    1. When working with well water, it’s possible you may not be getting the proper amount of PSI from the well pump. Which could mean that you would need a booster pump in the areas with a well. Just because it appears you are getting good water volume out of the source outlet does not necessarily mean the PSI is strong enough.
    1. When the system is being used, you will ALWAYS want to close out the waste water valve to increase your water output. Water will still trickle out of the waste but this will increase the pressure inside the RO canister giving you better water production.
    1. The On/Off waste water valve needs to ALWAYS be fully open when operating the system. It can be turned off while transporting but DO NOT forget to reopen when running water through the unit. Failing to do so can result in pressure build up and in turn can cause a blown gasket somewhere within the RO.
    1. If there are a bunch of fittings as well as a splitter to run two poles simultaneously, there is a strong chance you will need a pump. Otherwise I would in the time being remove all the additional fittings.
    1. Make sure you are not using too much hose. If you are trying to run the unit in an area with a well pump, I would try to use the 50′ of yellow hose only. Having the water trying to push through a long roll of pole hose will lose pressure as it travels.
    1. Try using the pencil jets instead of the over the top rinse bar. In lower water pressure areas the rinse bar does not work well for even amounts of water disbursement.
    1. Lastly, you should be able to yield 3/4 to 1 gallon per minute.

We hope you enjoyed a few of our tips for checking why you may have low water pressure. Multi-stage pure water systems are all the rage in the window cleaning industry. While it can save time and money, there are some obstacles you may run into such as having low water pressure.
