Tucker is a leader in manufacturing professional window cleaning equipment. When Shawn Gavin bought the company, he was dedicated to solving problems with waterfed poles. He had great success with RHG and grew when he acquired Tucker. With a complete product line for professional window cleaning and in property maintenance, the company has grown producing innovative products.

Tucker is well known for their DI tank systems, poles, waterfed systems, waterfed brushes and more. Their unique products are assembled right here in the USA. With over sixty years of innovation, there is no doubt their products are effective. One Tucker product that intrigues window cleaners is their unique Boar Bristle Brushes.

Tucker has dedicated time and money into producing Boar Bristle Brushes. Over the last eight years, they have designed and perfected multiple brushes. Why boar hair? There is nothing as aggressive as boar’s hair while scrubbing. They get most the of boar hair off the backs of Boar’s in China. Window cleaners are drawn to this brush because it for one is light, only 8.4 oz. Secondly, there is no other material that can match the scrubbing power!

Boar bristle has more drag and that helps with stronger scrubbing on the glass. Since the bristles are so aggressive, it holds more dirt. Be sure to get the bristles off the glass when you are rinsing to ensure no debris is left on the glass. Overall, synthetic nylon or horsehair cannot compare. Tucker is dedicated to fulfilling the boar brush need in the market.

Since Boar hair is natural, they do not last as long. Bristles break or fall off the brush head. To help brushes longevity, you want to be sure to be careful on the corners of windows. You will notice shorter and longer bristles on the brush. Boar brushes have to be built differently because you only want the soft end of the bristles exposed and scrubbing the window. Because they are natural bristles, they use one edge of the bristle and not the coarser side. The end great for scrubbing is stappled in taller and touch the surface of the glass while the coarse end is lower and not used.

The Tucker Boar’s Bristle Brushes come complete with a Euro Fitting to make it work with nearly any waterpole. It features long outer bristles and shorter inner bristles for great splay and scrubbing all in one brush with different sizes and jet configurations. There is the Tucker Boar’s Bristle Brushes and Tucker Boar’s Bristle Alpha Brushes, both come in 12 and 18 inch brushes. The Boar’s Bristle Alpha Brush has 4 pencil jets and a full-length rinse bar. The swiveling gooseneck allows for adjustment both up and down as well as left and right.

If you want the benefits of scrubbing with boar bristles but are worried about the longevity of the brush, you may want to consider their hybrid brushes. The Tucker Hybrid Bristle Brushes and Hybrid Alpha Brushes both have nylon and boar bristles in 12 or 18 inches. Typically, the synthetic will be on the outside to take the brunt of impact on the window corners while the inner bristles can scrub the glass.

Shawn Gavin highly recommends trying out a hybrid brush if you are new to the boar bristle brush market. You will be happy with the life of the brush and the scrub ability. He himself would clean with full boar bristles brushes and plan to rotate brushes often. Most of his customers will start with Hybrid and move to full boar brushes.
