Goosenecks come in all shapes and sizes, but every single one has a well-thought-out specific design that offers its own unique solution to whatever challenge you face in the field. It can sometimes be daunting to peruse through all the options available, but hopefully after you’ve read this blog, you will have a clearer understanding of what they all offer and how they can help when on the jobsite.

In every pure water system on the market, there is a gooseneck. A gooseneck is the piece connecting the water pole to the brush. There is somewhat of an industry standard sized tool. However, there are also a wide variety of other “gooseneck” options as well made to make your life easier.

Most of the goosenecks offered have the ability to adjust by simply releasing the lever at the pivoting point and allowing you to set the perfect angle for your brush to make great contact with the glass allowing you to clean it effectively. We have a wide variety of goosenecks that have varying ways of attaching to your Waterpole and brush. So, whether you are looking for a Euro thread (fine thread), Gardiner’s patented Square Lock or the type that screw directly into the block of the brush, we have you covered.

Let’s not forget about the swiveling goosenecks which give you the ability to pivot at the brush head for those particular scenarios. The pivoting gooseneck is also available with Euro, Square Lock or direct socket connection. Or, if you’re looking for a gooseneck that allows you to shut your water supply off directly to conserve your water output, Gardiner has designed an inline On/Off valve. Most inline on/off valves are setup to be connected pole hose to pole hose on each end of the valve. The drawback to this is: if you have a 35’ waterpole fully extended and you have the on/off valve positioned near your hands at the base of the pole, what happens when you shorten your waterpole back down? The inline valve has now moved away from you delaying your ability to shut the water supply.

If you occasionally come across situations where you have deep inset ledges, there are plenty of options available in this department. Gardiner offers all very light carbon fiber goosenecks ranging from 10-inches all the way to a telescoping gooseneck that extends all the way up to 47-inches. It’s worth noting that the Gardiner All Carbon Fiber goosenecks are not adjustable. They will already have either a 45- or 55-degree fixed angle.

We have a common phrase we like to say here at Detroit Sponge that we often tell our window cleaning professionals. When you come across a certain challenge within the window cleaning industry, there’s likely a tool to resolve that particular problem. When you are using a waterpole, it’s inevitable you will eventually come across a situation where your standard gooseneck will not give you the reach and or angle to properly clean the glass and give you the ability to close out the brush all the way to the bottom of the window.

Please see the attached link to our gooseneck page here: https://www.detroitsponge.com/pure-water/waterpole-goosenecks

This link will take you directly to the gooseneck landing page which will feature all the goosenecks we’ve discussed thus far but as a bonus there are also various gooseneck attachments, such as pad holders, levers and a variety of other gooseneck accessories. If you still need help with deciding which gooseneck would be the best fit for your application, please call our office (M-F 8:30-5) and talk with anyone of our knowledgeable team members.
