    I was wondering how you guys bid for awnings? I've got my second one next week. It is a small job and I bid it at what I want an hour. I figured 1.5 hours to be safe. Its very dirty, will be using universal vinyl awning cleaner probably this time. Would it be safer to start charging by the footage or continue to charge per hour like I did for my first job? I'm tempted to just charge by the footage til I get the hang of approx. how long it takes me to do a job normally.

    I'd say continue charging by the hour. If the customer already has a price point set in their mind just remind them that you charge by the hour before you start.

    We charged by the hour when we bid our awnings also. It was a win win for both customer and us. Afterward we always clean the windows also. Important for a window cleaning company in Denver.
